A-Zing Therapies Jo Spaczynska

About Me

Jo SpaczynskaHello, Welcome to my website. It has taken me quite a long time to get to this stage of having my own website and it will be a work in progress as I continue to learn and develop.

My name is Jo Spaczynska, the reason for my website is that I am a complementary practitioner. I will give you a little information about myself and the different ways in which I work. If you know which therapy you are wanting then just click on the button on the left hand side. If you are not sure which way of working is most appropriate for you, then please read all the descriptions and the one that you are drawn to most is probably the best for you at this time.

I became interested in complementary therapies many years ago through my own dis-ease. The first course I attended was in Reflexology, qualifying in 1989. I then discovered Reiki and gained my Reiki I and Reiki II certificates from Mari Hall in 1990 ( many years later I decided that I wanted to teach Reiki so completed my Reiki training by becoming a Reiki Master and Teacher).

I also studied social work qualifying in 1991 and practised as a social worker for almost 10 years with my main remit being counselling. I gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling in 1997, and have also studied Core Process Psychotherapy and Transpersonal Psychology at foundation level.

My curiosity in complementary ways of working continued and continues. I gained a Diploma in CranioSacral Therapy in 1999 with CranioSacral Practitioner Training Scotland and have regular supervision and ongoing postgraduate training. I have also studied and qualified in Indian Head Massage in 2002 and Thermo-Auricular Therapy or Hopi Ear Candles in 2003.

My most recent new training has been in Emotional Freedom Techniques, another fascinating way of working. It is a mixture of needle-less acupuncture, kinesiology and psychology which has fantastic results often with only one session.

I have given many talks and workshops on a variety of subjects including HIV/AIDS, Deaf Awareness Talks, as well as complementary therapy talks at a variety of different place including the University of Dundee on the Nursing and Midwifery Palliative Care Module.

As I said at the beginning this website is a work in progress as I am myself. The human body never ceases to amaze me and each new course I attend teaches me more and more about my own body in a multitude of different ways. I firmly believe in continuing my own journey of self-discovery, self-development and healing. Complementary medicine is holism in practice, complementing the body, mind, emotions, vital life force and spiritual energy. I am committed to working holistically and my wealth of training and experience in many areas enables me to support people to improve their quality of life and wellbeing.

I feel deeply that if while reading this you are comfortable with what I say about myself and like my description of the ways in which I work, then we will be able to work together. To me the relationship between the recipient and practitioner is a very important aspect of the healing process.

If you are looking for a homeopath, aromatherapist or anything else not mentioned, please get in touch and I can suggest a practitioner for you.
